Jackson Rowe Case Study

Background

Jackson Rowe are professional construction experts. Founded in 1989, Jackson Rowe experienced rapid growth in their early days before having to scale back following the recession. Nowadays they’re a modest team focused on delivering exceptional customer experience while still upholding their traditional brand image.

The business challenge

When Jackson Rowe approached Supersonic Playground, they were in the run-up to their 30th-anniversary celebrations. To mark the occasion, the client wanted to relaunch their website at their summer gathering and they wanted the site to reflect the change the company had undergone. Their previous three-tier offering had changed to focus on two areas of the business of which two new Directors had been appointed to run. The new visuals needed to be representative of this change, incorporating modern designs but all the while being considerate and respectful of the original brand which was still inherently important across the business.

The solution we offered

To combat this and ensure the client got what they were looking for, our designer was tasked with creating a new logo and branding design that was fit-for-purpose but that also pushed the boundaries of what they were looking for. We produced a series of concepts, some that were very traditional and others that were very modern and thought-provoking. These designs got the client thinking, they opened up potential doors and inspiration which led to the logo and visual designs they have today; a far cry from their original branding but not too far that you lose the brand altogether.

The logo’s transition from three elements to two was to represent the change in structure at Jackson Rowe and the client loves the subtleties that echo in their new variation. They also were keen to position the brand as professional, accurate and considered; all things that their customers look for in legal construction experts. To achieve this, we moved the client away from their dark purple website design and instead introduced light backgrounds, white space and smokey purples to brighten the site which also helped achieve the clarity, cleanliness and professionalism they were after. Another key feature of the website was the introduction of their blog, this was critical for the team at Jackson Rowe as they had come to realise that if they weren’t producing regular, thought-provoking content; they would start to lose market share. Their new Custom WordPress site gives them an admin area designed for their needs and the ability to update and create new content effortlessly making them less reliant on us as an agency to make critical changes and empowers their own team to feel in control of the site.

The results

Since the site’s launch in September 2019, they’ve had lots of compliments from clients, suppliers and partners regarding the design and the team themselves have also commented about how easy the WordPress platform has been to learn and use daily.
