TilHill Forestry Mockup

2 minute read

Background

Tilhill Forestry is the UK’s leading forestry management, timber harvesting and landscaping company. They offer a wide range of forest and woodland management services to owners, including investment expertise.

The business challenge

Tilhill was recommended to us in late 2019 by a friend of the agency to support them with their website project. The client had not long launched a site with another agency using Joomla, but they were unhappy with the other platform. They were also tied into an expensive maintenance package which increased the site’s overall cost of ownership. Tilhill were disappointed with the platform’s lack of support and had frustrations with the backend, which prevented them from making simple content updates.

As a result, they looked for a new web agency to support them with designing and building a completely new website using WordPress. A key priority for the new website was that, as well as better presenting the company online; it needed to be maintained internally, so flexibility and freedom over content was a must.

The solution we delivered

Our team worked closely with Tilhill to deliver a completely new custom WordPress website that is smart, professional, and sophisticated. Many of the site’s pages were designed and built using our Modular Content Builder to give their internal team the ability to create new pages with ease post-launch.

Our custom WordPress build included a bespoke admin area that prioritises essential content, allowing the Tilhill team to navigate, update and maintain assets and copy easily. For us, the most important part of any project is ensuring the customer can continue to update their site after its launch without any development support, which is why we also provided bespoke CMS training to Tilhill’s internal team.

The results

Tilhill’s new custom website launched in 2021 and has been a great success. Since the new website launched, we’ve continued to work on a series of sister sites and enhancements as part of an ongoing, evolutionary relationship.
