Background

Rap Interiors are design, fit-out and refurbishment specialists focusing on the commercial, office, healthcare, leisure & retail, industrial & warehouse and education & school industries. They have been established since 1988 and have an enviable reputation for their creativity and delivering of refurbishment and fit-out projects in the Commercial sector.

The business challenge

Rap Interiors were first introduced to us by Sleeping Giant Media in 2015, who were overseeing their SEO and PPC requirements. At the time, Rap had four main websites (one for each of their services and industry types), and we were recommended to help support these sites and improve their overall performance. Each of the websites was very similar, and while they were servicing different markets, there was lots of overlap which was making it a bit of a mammoth task to manage internally. It also meant that Rap Interiors didn’t have one authoritative voice in their industry which we knew would have an impact later down the line when growth became a priority.

The solution we delivered

Through a tender process, we were awarded the project in 2016, we kick-started the web design and build by getting to know the client and understanding what they needed from one website and how we would collate each of the brands which would eventually form Rap Interiors as we know it now. Armed with this information, we developed a whole new brand and visual design which would serve each of the audience types the client had defined, and then at the end of 2016, the website was launched.

Over the next few years, the website continued to evolve with additional features and functionality. As a result, the heavy use of JavaScript and CSS was slowing the site down, and we realised that the same, if not better, aesthetics were achievable with a visual refresh. The client agreed, and version two of the Rap Interiors website was launched. This time speed and performance were top priorities, and that’s exactly what we delivered.

A few months later in early 2019, further discussions around brand positioning put a complete website re-build on the table. Although the site was now visually appealing, fast and technically sound, we all realised that as Rap had evolved, so had their positioning in the industry, and while they were once a small independent business, they now had four offices across the South-East and were going toe-to-toe with established London brands for big refit projects. With that, version three was born.

The new website combines speed and performance, has achieved the voice of authority they initially lacked, and, most recently, has positioned Rap Interiors as leaders in their industry.

The results

Over the last four years, we’ve worked hard with Rap Interiors to continue to develop and evolve their website and look forward to what is to come over the upcoming years. Following the site’s initial launch* we’ve seen the following:

  • 22.08% rise in sessions
  • 59.27% increase in organic search sessions
  • 20.96% increase in new users

*July 16 – 17 compared to July 17 – 18
