Based in West Malling, Kent, Scrummi manufactures eco-friendly towels for salons and spas. With strong ethical principles and a desire to reduce waste and help the environment, they have grown steadily over the past decade.
The business challenge
When we first met Scrummi in 2017, they had an outdated website that wasn’t reflective of their brand and wasn’t delivering the quality of leads they required. Built using the Magento platform, Scrummi found they didn’t have the flexibility of maintaining the site in-house and that their team struggled to make basic content changes.
Overall, the site needed a complete refresh. Scrummi also recognised a need for a rebrand but the initial focus was to launch a website that was responsive, reflective of their core values and SEO friendly. Scrummi also had high hopes for the new site as they were looking to double their online revenue.
The solution we delivered
In a bid to propel Scrummi forward as industry leaders, we set about designing and developing a completely new, responsive website using WordPress with WooCommerce. Working closely with Scrummi’s internal marketing team, we created a new website structure that was user-friendly and efficient. Throughout the design process, there was a heavy emphasis on their eco-credentials, and we used light colours to bring a sense of professionalism, cleanliness and authority to the brand.
Not only did the new website showcase their elevated brand positioning, but it also resulted in better load times and higher conversions on mobile. It’s also important to note that the team can now effortlessly amend, edit and add products and content to the site in-house without any ongoing or unexpected development costs.
Since the website’s launch in 2018, we’ve continued to work with Scrummi to keep the site up-to-date, and in 2019 they underwent the rebrand they had been longing for which then saw an update in visuals for Scummi.com. We’re also working on some new loyalty and voucher features for the brand which we hope to put live later this year.
In the first year following the site’s launch* the website saw the following growth:
- New users: up by 10.56%
- Sessions: up by 19.72%
- Pages/ Sessions: up by 44.91%
- Bounce rate: decreased by 24.06%
- Page views: increased by 73.49%
