Cade Street Nursery

The Background

Cade Street Nursery sits near Heathfield in East Sussex, and the Honeysett family have been growing garden plants there for over 40 years. They sell in several ways: online, to the trade across the South East, from the plant centre and garden shop at the nursery, and from a stall at North Cross Road Market in East Dulwich every Saturday.

The Challenge

Each of those customers wants something different. A gardener wants to browse plants and order a few for delivery, a trade buyer wants this week’s availability, and a local visitor wants to know when the plant centre is open. The new website had to serve all of them without one getting in the way of another, and still feel like a family nursery.

Our Solution

We built a custom WordPress website with a WooCommerce shop for the nursery’s 3 litre perennials and hardy Alstroemeria. Plants can be found by search or by season, and customers can keep an account for repeat orders.

Wholesale has its own section, where trade customers sign up for the weekly availability list and check where the nursery delivers. The plant centre, the market stall and the blog each have their own pages, so the team can keep opening times and news up to date themselves.
