HIPPO Waste is a prominent UK-based waste management company renowned for its innovative waste disposal solutions. Established in 2002, HIPPO introduced the HIPPOBAG, a flexible and convenient alternative to traditional skip hire, which has become a staple in major DIY retail chains across the country. Their services cater to both residential and commercial clients, offering a range of options from HIPPOBAGs to traditional skip hire, all designed to facilitate efficient and responsible waste disposal.

The Challenge

While HIPPO Waste had established a strong reputation with their HIPPOBAGs and skip hire services, their ‘Man and Van’ service—a personalised waste collection offering—remained relatively under recognised. This service involves a team visiting households to collect waste items directly, providing a hands-on solution for waste removal. To enhance the visibility and accessibility of this service, HIPPO required a dedicated eCommerce platform separate from their main corporate website. The new platform needed to allow users to easily book and pay for collections, select waste items by type or volume, and verify service availability based on their location.
