The Background

Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce (KICC) is one of the largest networking and business support organisations in Kent, UK, boasting over 1,200 members. They offer a comprehensive range of services to businesses across the county, including networking events, membership benefits, business support and advice, legal and HR services, and more.

The Challenge

In 2018, KICC’s existing website had been operational for over a decade. While it had served its purpose, the platform had become outdated and lacked the technical robustness required to support the Chamber and its members effectively. KICC needed a new website that would not only attract and retain members but also facilitate the wide array of services they offered.

Our Solution

Collaborating closely with KICC, we designed and developed a new custom hybrid brochure and eCommerce website. Our approach included:

1. Content Rationalisation: We initiated the project with a card sorting session to organise and streamline the website’s content, ensuring clarity and ease of navigation.
2. User Experience and Design: A comprehensive user experience and design phase was conducted to create an intuitive interface that accommodates the complex features and functionalities required by KICC.
3. Feature Integration: The new website encompasses several advanced features, including:
   • Events Booking: A system for users to view and register for upcoming events.
   • Membership Applications: An online process for prospective members to apply for membership.
   • Members Area: A dedicated section where members can access benefits, resources, and updates.
   • Business Directory: A listing of member businesses with editable profiles.
   • Member Blog: A platform for members to share insights and updates.

The redesigned website now effectively supports KICC’s mission to enhance, protect, and connect businesses in Kent, providing a robust platform that meets the needs of both the Chamber and its diverse membership base.
